《火星叔叔馬丁》是由唐納德·佩特瑞執導，克里斯托弗·洛伊德、伊麗莎白·赫利等主演的科幻喜劇片。該片講述了電視新聞記者提姆得不到老闆的賞識，在某次回家的路上，遇到了火星人馬汀，馬汀被太空研究中心小組成員盯上的故事。

沃斯頓又在1999年的克利斯托弗·洛伊德主演的一個系列片的電影版中扮演了這個讓人懷念的配角——馬丁叔叔，最終他還是回到了火星上。作為托尼獎和兩次美國電視艾美獎的獲得者，演員雷·沃斯頓2001年1月2日在美國加州貝弗利山家中逝世，享年86歲。

《火星叔叔馬丁》在CBS從1963年播放到1966年，雷·沃斯頓扮演的馬丁叔叔從外星降落到地球上，這讓他的名字家喻戶曉。主要講述來自火星的Exos因事故落到地球上，此後跟記者蒂姆·歐哈利（比利·比可斯白飾演）一家同住。新聞記者為掩飾他的火星人身份，對外稱他為馬丁叔叔（英文中「馬丁」和「火星人」發音相近）。盡管馬丁叔叔長得和人類一樣，並且說英文，但他有著很多火星人的特點，如他頭後有著可伸縮的天線，能把自己隱身，能看透別人的心思，能遙指移物。由此產生種種問題和笑料。
